3 Practical New Year’s Resolutions Anyone Can Make!

The end of the year has come and gone, and we all know what that means; it’s time to reflect on moments passed and learn from what we’ve experienced. It’s also time for many to make New Year’s Resolutions; making promises to ourselves for betterment and self-fulfillment is all too common this time of year. How many times have you made a New Year’s resolution that you actually stuck to? We’re sure there are quite a few of you who haven’t, and we’re here to tell you that’s okay!

We thought about it, and this year, we’re thinking about making some small changes to our lives that don’t take a lot of time and effort, but can lead to a big difference in our 2016. Hectic schedules and multiple responsibilities can make it hard to go to the gym three to four times a week or prepare healthy, raw meals for the month. And so, if you’re still looking for self-improvement inspiration but are overwhelmed by typical resolutions, here are a few we’re considering to start the new year off with a positive and motivated mindset.

1. Dance More

Dancing is an incredible experience; it makes you feel good, it’s so fun, and it’s good for you! Technically, it is exercise! Even if you blast a couple of songs while you’re getting ready for work and sing into your hairbrush for five minutes a day, let yourself dance a little bit more and you’ll instantly feel happier and lighter. There are so many opportunities in a day where we can dance; if you hear music, consider busting a move or two! Who cares if you’re in public? Maybe you’ll inspire someone else to let loose. There’s no shame in dancing, and the amount of benefits you’ll find from doing it a little bit every day are bountiful.
2. Take a Multi Vitamin

There are a fair amount of generic multi-vitamins that pack a lot of nutrients our diets might lack that are inexpensive and good for you. This one may take a little bit of research or a chat with your pharmacist, but taking 10 seconds out of your day to take a tablet full of beneficial nutrients and minerals is a small step towards a healthier body.

3. Do More Realistic Good Deeds

We all would love to be able to run a charity event, or donate lots of time to local initiatives, but we may not have the time or the resources. While it’s important to sacrifice to help and foster your community, we can truly do a lot with very little to make this world a better place. Thank the people that you often neglect as contributing to your day; your barista, your bus driver, your sales assistant, or your waitress. Buy the person behind you in line their coffee. Smile at the homeless person instead of crossing to the other side of the street. Little gestures like these cost us hardly anything, but as we’ve seen time and time again, these tiny little efforts to make someone smile can explode into a contagious spread of positivity.
