There’s something about the start of a new year that makes us want to reinvent ourselves, in big ways and small.

For some of you ladies, lingerie is just a small part of life, but it can really be so much more! The power in lingerie is real, and if you make these five lingerie resolutions this year, you can truly own the power that lingerie can give you.

1. Get a Bra Fitting, Now and In Six Months

Your bra should fit you like a glove! | Jeanie Seamless Plunge Molded Microfiber Bra by Parfait Lingerie

Before you make any new lingerie purchases, you need to get a bra fitting.

We never stay the same size for too long, and so many factors can affect our bra size. It’s crucial to know your size so that you shop for the right bras that’ll fit properly.

We have some tools to help you measure yourself at home if that works best for you, and a checklist you want to check off while you try on bras.

Don’t forget to get yourself measured again in the middle of the year; if you lose weight, gain muscle, gain weight, or even have a change in your hormones, chances are your bra size will be affected.

2. Take Inventory of The Lingerie You Own Now

Decluttering is commonplace at this time of year, and you shouldn’t forget your lingerie drawer.

Get rid of anything with stains, rips, tears, worn wires or straps, and don’t keep things you don’t wear or don’t fit into just because they’re in decent condition. Need some tips? Check out this blog post to truly know when you should say goodbye to your lingerie.

If you have lingerie that you either haven’t worn or is still salvageable, there are charitable initiatives that would happily take those things off your hands and give them to people who need them.

3. Indulge In The Best Lingerie For You

At just $52 USD, this multipurpose bra is a must-have! | Allure Light Push Up Bra by Montelle Intimates

We all love a good bargain, but lingerie is one thing you should never skimp on.

That’s not to say you have to spend $200 on a bra; we just mean that you shouldn’t shy away from quality and structure for the sake of a price tag. Sure, you may have to save up – and there’s nothing wrong with that! – but it’s worth it in the end to have the perfect fitting lingerie.

It’s also important to note which lingerie brands have successfully created quality lingerie at an affordable price point. Warner’s, Parfait, and Montelle are a couple of brands we carry that make high quality lingerie for a variety of sizes and lifestyles at great prices.

4. Try Something New

Challenging yourself to stray outside of your comfort zone is a fabulous tool for self-improvement and discovery.

Lingerie is finally being recognized for how empowering it can be, and new styles are encapsulating that emotion that every woman deserves to feel.

If you want to try something new, we recommend a teddy or bodysuit that you can wear as innerwear or outerwear, or even a sexy chemise with a cute detail like a cutout or sheer element.

5. Embrace The Body You Have NOW With Your Lingerie

No woman should ever feel like shopping for lingerie is a constant reminder of their body insecurities.

I personally shared my story on the Bra Doctor’s Blog a couple years ago about how I came to terms with my body through lingerie, and so many other stories have been shared since. When you give into quality, perfect fit, and the styles that suit your own unique body, you’d be pleasantly surprised at how beautiful that can make you feel.
