As a woman, you are always trying to look your best, and you have probably spent more money on beauty products than you care to admit. But what if there were some simple and cost-effective beauty secrets that you didn’t know about, would you try them? I know I would. So I began my quest for those beauty secrets that no one ever shared with me and I want to share my findings with you. Let’s start at the top of the head and work our way down.
1. Aspirin for Dandruff
Okay I know this is a touchy subject, but let’s face it, this affects more women than you think and its not caused by not washing your hair. It has to do with the amount of oil your hair produces, it occurs more in girls going through puberty. A simple way to rid yourself of dandruff is using aspirin. Aspirin does wonders for dandruff. The salicylic acid in aspirin helps eliminate dandruff. Simply drop a few aspirin tablets into your shampoo and it will dissolve overnight and you’ll have home made anti dandruff shampoo.
2. Deodorant for Shine
At some point during the day, most of us are faced with a shiny face and we pile on the powder to cover it up. But that’s the worst thing we can do. The more make up we use the more our pores become clogged and we don’t want that. Here is an easier way to eliminate shine, by using your deodorant. Put deodorant on your finger and dab it under your eyes and t-zone to help create a matte look, therefore eliminating your shine problem.
3. Whiter Teeth
Now what about your teeth? Everyone craves whiter teeth but teeth whitening can run you hundreds of dollars, but no longer! Crush a few fresh strawberries into a scrubbing pulp that you mix with a pinch of stain removing baking soda and enough water to make a paste. Apply the mixture to a soft bristled toothbrush, polish for a few minutes every 3 months, not more often or it will erode tooth enamel. The astringent malic acid in strawberries helps buff coffee and red wine stains from the teeth.
What about your breasts? While there is no miracle home remedy to make them bigger or more toned, but there is a way to make them appear bigger and to make you appear leaner and longer and refine your silhouette. It’s as simple as getting a bra fitting. Visiting a bra fitting boutique (or getting help from our friend the Bra Doctor!) will help you determine what your proper bra size is. Many women are not wearing the correct bra size but once you determine your ideal bra size (and shape) it will change your overall appearance (and your everyday comfort). Do you have yellow nails? If you do, you probably cover it up with dark nail polish but that only makes your nails more yellow. There is a quick fix to banish those yellow nails: simply use toothpaste. Just dab a bit of toothpaste on a nail brush and scrub away those yellow stains.
6. High Heels
Do you love to wear high heels? I know I do, but what I don’t like is how much my feet ache by the end of the night. Everyone always tells me I should have worn flats but I don’t want to hang up my heels. Try wearing comfy gel insoles like Dr. Scholl’s in your favorite shoes instead for instant comfort. (You may already know about these, but remind yourself that comfy insoles go a long way in helping you get through the day and enjoy your evening!)
