Wearing Halloween costumes comes from Romans who practiced Celtic traditions & wore Roman costumes. Halloween came into America in the 1840’s. Back 2000 years ago, the Celts believed ghosts came back on October 31st. While dressing in costumes is an old tradition, today they are more based on pop culture. Many popular costumes are from well-known movies, music, news stories & TV shows. Costumes were also worn in Northern Europe to scare off ghosts & demons, and now we wear them more to impress or shock people.
You could create your own costume, rent one or find one online or in specialty costume shops – you would not believe the selection available out there. If you’re not feeling super festive, there are always general costumes for women which are always reliable for their appeal, like witch, angel, cowgirl, policewoman, etc. There are many ideas that let you experiment with makeup, including but not limited to, Pirate costumes, fairy, or even a celebrity zombie… Try to find your own spin on a traditional costume, and you’ll be sure to stand out.
One of the best parts of Halloween is that we get to eat all the sugar we want… without feeling too guilty about it. Even if you’re not going trick-or-treating, those little packets of candy are pretty much irresistible.

Personally when I pick a costume, I go for something kind of sexy but comfortable – contrary to what some may think, it is possible!
