Couture Fashion & Inspired Lingerie

Bonjour everyone! Spring 2012 Couture Week has swiftly gone and even now as we speak, Fall 2012 fashion week is already in effect.  Before couture week can sneak on by, I am here to gather all the “diamonds” and “jewels” in the rough, polish them off, and share some of my favourite picks from couture week! I have also featured some lingerie I love inspired by Couture Week, all available on Now That’s Lingerie’s online lingerie boutique. (I’ve also tried my best to not be biased towards pink frilly, sparkly things, opting instead for variety). Let us begin!

1. I love how this Giambattista Valli gown has such soft and light curvaceous lines, and this bright explosion of magenta that makes it even more beautiful than if this gown were neutral-toned. (Featured lingerie: Luscious Lace Corset by Blush)

2. Just looking this gown gives off this beautifully, light and almost mysterious aura. The oceanic coral tone is amazing, with layered tiers of lines that really give power and confidence, with the soft essences and floaty fabrics adding to the already dramatic and voluminous ball gown. (Featured Lingerie: Loreili chemise by Arianne & Naomi babydoll by Affinitas Intimates)

3. Let’s go back to the basics of nudes. Another gorgeous look that flatters a woman’s silhouette is a fitted skirt with a high-waisted belt over a slightly loose top, giving you an air of sophistication. The two different tones of nude also work really well together, giving a light and barely-there feminine look. (Featured lingerie: Julia bustier and panty by Affinitas Intimates)

4. Jean Paul Gaultier’s Fall 2012 collection was totally inspired by Amy Winehouse, and I believe he designed this collection perfectly – this daring and dramatic gown emanates vamp sexiness and sass, while still managing to look pretty. (Lingerie: Burlesque Fantasy full figured bra by Montelle Intimates)

5. With this huge flower on my head, I feel as if I could run in a green pasture wearing this Alexis Mabille dress. Light, airy and comfortable, with a hint of vintage. (Lingerie: Vintage Touch Control Brief by Grenier Lingerie)

6. My list wouldn’t be the same if I didn’t add something pink, sparkly and light! This Elie Saab gown gives a very nice soft and fresh feeling, perfect for a Spring look. (Lingerie: Romantic Emotion collection by Valisere Lingerie)

7. For the confident woman who doesn’t want to bare her body, just her fashion sense. The pattern on this Giambattista Valli dress may be a lot to handle, but is toned down with the curves of this vintage silhouette, accentuated by a pinched high waist. (Right: Maria Dress by Arianne Left: Angela camisole-corset with belt by Arianne)

8. This modern Chanel outfit is a great look for a girl that doesn’t like to wear tight fitted gowns to a dinner party but something she can rock with a cool edgy vibe and still breathe normally – at the same time! (Victoria camisole-corset by Arianne Lingerie)

9. This short white Chanel dress is the perfect merge of a wedding gown and a party dress with disco ball-like sparkles with a glam and punk appeal. (Lingerie: Great Expectations chemise by Blush)

10. This Chanel dress was inspired with futuristic approaches and for a girl that wants to have the concept going on in her wardrobe but does not want to look out-of-this-world.  This dress offers a subtler way to show off your cutting-edge tastes while remaining feminine. (Lingerie: Midnight Kiss satin and lace teddy by Blush Lingerie)
