Apps To Aid In Women’s Wellness

Many are embracing technology for its convenience with just about everything, including things like their health. It’s important for women to be as proactive and as educated about their health as possible, and technology can aid in that. On #ShopNTL, we’ve written about health related apps before on our Bra Doctor blog, but we have found more that we’d like to share with you. We often share tips about how lingerie can aid in breast and reproductive wellness, but we care about more than that when it comes to our lingerie lovers. So here are some apps we’ve discovered that can assist women in taking their health and wellness into their own hands.
A quick note: wellness apps are not meant to be used as a medical professional replacement, or for making concrete diagnoses, and we’re not endorsing any of these as such.

Endometriosis is one of the most under-discussed conditions a woman can experience, even in the medical community, leading to difficult diagnoses and the suffrage of women of painful symptoms for years without any understanding of what’s happening. One woman experienced this and decided to create an app to allow more women to track what’s happening in their bodies and learn if it could possibly be endometriosis. Furthermore, once a woman is diagnosed with endometriosis, she can use the app to record her symptoms and any irregularities to discuss with her doctor. Even better, there is nutritional advice, wellness techniques, and more to help women with the disease. Learn more about endometriosis here.

Stress, mental illness, kids, tough jobs, and so much more can make us lose sight of the positive aspects of life. There are so many things that can affect our moods in a negative way, but with an app like Positive Thinking, we can do the opposite. The app is filled with motivational and inspiration messages and images that you can reflect on when you’re feeling down. It’s been proven quite effective that reflection on positive thoughts can help improve mood and mental wellness when you take the time to soak it in.

One of the biggest hurdles many of us have that stops us from going to the gym or working out is a lack of time. Doing workouts at home can be effective, but sometimes, the inspiration is hard to find. This Fitnet app has a series of very small workouts in a variety of styles that you can follow when you have that five minute window after putting the kids down for a nap, or that little stretch of time you might have after dinner before getting to your other responsibilities. There are also videos from professional personal trainers to help keep you motivated.

There is so much to be known about food, almost too much, and many food companies know how to entice you into believing something is healthy when in fact it’s not. Fooducate is an app to take along with you when you’re at the grocery store to make it easier to understand what’s really in the food you’re about to purchase. Foods within the database are given ratings, and you can find nutritional information, pros and cons, and much more. Moreover, you can track your daily consumption if you’d like to use this app for weight loss or personal nutritional improvement.
