Watching the MTV Awards red carpets is always an interesting ride, as celebs shed the glamour of gowns for a more individualistic take on fashion.
The dress code is more lax and the expectation is that the stars will wear something bold – which was definitely the case this year. Here are some of our favorite looks from this year’s MTV Movie and TV Awards!
Hailee Steinfeld in Fausto Puglisi
Hailie makes the case for the cutout dress with this oh-so-mini Fausto Puglisi purple frock.
The dress is a stunning purple, which looks amazing against Hailee’s golden skin, and the embellishments are romantic and dramatic. We love how she matches the sparkle with some bright silver Louboutins.
Cara Delevingne in Saint Laurent
Cara’s recently shaved head has clearly made her gravitate towards an edgier aesthetic.
Cara looked amazing in all velvet with a Saint Laurent strapless mini, decorated with a silver glitter detail and revealing cutout in the front. She shows just a hint of skin above some thigh high velvet boots. Everything about this look shows off just how stunning Cara is; even her muted makeup and dark lip win in our books.
Jasmine Tookes in Lethicia Bronstein
Of course a lingerie model can rock a lingerie-inspired look like no other!
Jasmine stunned with a revealing blue lace gown. The bodysuit-inspired underlay showed off a lot of her body, and the skirt flowed beautifully, giving her a little extra coverage. The bold color choice is refreshing for the red carpet and her accessories didn’t take away from the beauty of the dress.
Emma Watson in Kitx
Emma Watson was by far the star of the night, not only because of her outfit choice, but because of her moving speech and her inclusive accessory.
Emma’s Kitx dress has so much going on, but in just the right amounts. The sheer sleeve complements the halter neckline on the other half, the asymmetrical hem was super modern, and the silver sequins make the dress pop. She accessorized with an & pin, which supports GLAAD and their fight for inclusive rights.
Gal Gadot in Cinq a Sept
We want to go shopping for a tuxedo dress after seeing Gal Gadot’s sexy look.
Gal’s sexy, vintage inspired Cinq a Sept frock was a plunging tuxedo dress that showed off her cleavage, adorned with some frills and lace at the bottom. The only thing that’s missing is a bold shoe to make this look more of a statement.
Isabela Moner in Jonathan Simkhai
While Moner’s look is quite simple, it’s a beautiful youthful ensemble with modern details we think is so appropriate for the young star.
The simple white dress is made unique with some black ties and an asymmetrical hemline. The lace up shoes are the perfect complement to the detail in the dress.
