The 2018 award season continues, with just as much anticipation as to what the stars will wear, but a little less symbolic than last weekend’s Golden Globes.
The fight in Hollywood isn’t over, but the gowns did become much more colorful for the Critics’ Choice Awards, celebrating some of the best talent in the film and television industry.
These are the stars who wowed us last evening with their gorgeous frocks!
Margot Robbie in Chanel
We can’t think of any event where Margot Robbie isn’t the best dressed.
Her Chanel frock was adorable with little ruffles and stripes, and she paired it expertly with a colorful jeweled belt. She made this look extra cute with a pulled back bun and some strappy sandals. It’s the perfect look for Spring that we’ll all be recreating in the warmer weather.
Saoirse Ronan in Michael Kors
A well fitting gown that hugs all the right places is just as sensual as a dress full of cutouts and cleavage.
Saoirse proves this with her Michael Kors dress, which ruches in the centre at the hips to create the most gorgeous curve. Her dark lip and soft straight hair are incredibly elegant, and she looks like the big star she’s become!
Samira Wiley in Rebecca Vallance
Samira makes the case for ruffles to stay on trend this year, as her brilliantly blue dress fits her perfectly and has ruffles in all the right places.
The off shoulder gown features a soft, flattering ruffle, with a ruffle down the side that leads to a slit in the bottom. The whole look is radiant, refreshing, and stunning – just like Samira!
Laura Dern in Balmain
We predict Laura Dern is going to be huge this year – for her talent, for her inspiration, and for her awesome fashion choices.
She opted for a black Balmain jumpsuit with a blazer inspired top that shows just a hint of lingerie. It’s a sleek look that fits her so well, and she looks classy and sophisticated. She kept the look simple with some black pumps and a black clutch, and the monochrome is perfection.
Angelina Jolie in Ralph & Russo
Angelina has had some hits and misses on the red carpets lately, but this fun little frock from Ralph & Russo is absolutely darling.
The fluff of the feathers on top are a beautiful and unique touch to the fairly simple Ralph & Russo dress, which sinches in at the waist and flows asymmetrically down to the ankle. Accessories are minimal but impactful with glittery earrings and some silver earrings for an all-around elegant ensemble.
Kaley Cuoco in J. Mendel
When several trends come together in one garment, it can be amazing or too much.
But Kaley Cuoco found a perfect mix with this J. Mendel gown, a blush, sheer, sequin gown with a plunging neckline and a ruffled skirt. She looks absolutely radiant – doesn’t she always? – and glowing, as she had her new fiance by her side the whole night.
