Wow, fashion made a huge shift this year!
2016 liberated us from the strict fashion rules we once studied and was all about comfort, ease, and owning your true self. Things that were once considered unstylish were transformed into trends that stole the limelight!
As the year winds down, here are some of the fashion trends you loved this year:
1. The Bralette
Ladies were loving the more lax feel of a bralette, which features no padding or underwire most of the time. Almost every lingerie brand came up with some variation of this ultra-popular style to feed into the demand of a less structured bra.
2. Athleisure
Your workout wear was no longer just exclusively for the gym. With bright colors, modern details, logos, and sexy silhouettes, it became increasingly popular to dress down instead of dress up.
3. Sports Bras
An extension of the athleisure trend, sports bras underwent a stylish makeover to become a staple in many women’s wardrobes. Once again, cool color combinations and details like straps and cutouts took sports bras to a fashionable new level.
4. Pyjama Style
PJ tops, pants, and matching combos, were all the rage among the fashion elite. Variations of this trend, such as the soft pant and slim leg track pant, were more popular among the masses. Sweatpants outdoors? Sounds good to us!
5. The Choker
It’s no longer about large baubles or lots of layers; the choker was one of the biggest statement accessories of the year. People were even using thin strings of fabric or shoelaces to embrace this trend!
6. The 90’s Look
From spaghetti strap dresses layered over t-shirts to acid wash, the 90s were the decade to incorporate into your wardrobe this year. It doesn’t look like this era is going back to the past anytime soon either.
7. Lingerie As Outerwear
Slinky slip dresses were by far the most desired style of this year, and showing off your lingerie in creative ways was also no longer a faux-pas. DEFINITELY a trend we loved and embraced!
8. Velvet
The soft, luxurious fabric has come back full force as the weather got chillier. New colors have been added to the fabric for a modern touch.
9. Logo Love
Wearing your love of a brand was no longer tacky, and the more vintage styles you could find, the better. Many brands took to this trend for a little bit of self-promo.
10. Off The Shoulder
Your shoulder was THE piece of skin to show this year, being a part of the body that is demure yet super sexy. Off the shoulder dresses and tops were among the trendiest ways you could bare them.
