Every now and then, lacy lingerie comes in and out of style, new details emerge, and silhouettes change.
As always, trends come and go, but when it comes to what “sexy” lingerie means, it has changed dramatically and permanently (we hope).
Sexy lingerie used to be considered what shows off your body, red and lacy, or a dramatic outfit. While we think all of those things are still sexy, “sexy” lingerie means something different.
Sexy lingerie is now lingerie that you feel sexy in. It can be any style or size! It’s all about the attitude that emanates from you when you’re wearing your favorite lingerie, as well as the confidence you feel when you slip it on.
Lingerie is no longer just something you wear because you need to. Lingerie has become a fashion statement, a body-positive statement, and is being made for every body type now, rather than just for standard sizes. Brands that aren’t jumping on board are losing their relevance, and lingerie advertisements have changed to reflect this new definition of sexy.
And so, what can we look to when we want to see just how lingerie is changing? Look at the newest trends that prove that anyone, with any sense of style, body, and personality can rock lingerie with confidence and feel sexy and supported.
Bralettes have been a huge lingerie trend that has essentially become a staple in your wardrobe! They show off your natural shape, and come in so many different styles.
Sports bras and athleisure lingerie have made waves in lingerie, celebrating everybody and every body’s need to add some healthy habits into their lifestyle. They are made to support and love your body NOW, not what society used to think it should be.
More brands are also getting recognition for their extended size ranges that offer modern, beautiful, sexy, and versatile lingerie items for all sizes. Look at brands like Parfait, Montelle, and Elita for body positive styles that look good and feel good.
Sexy can be a simple black bralette, or a cool sports bra. It can be a chemise that is see-through to show off your curves, or one with a short hemline. It can be a sexy, red push up bra, or a full cup bra with exposed stitching. It’s all about what makes YOU feel good!
