As beauty and fashion blogs have been for years, lingerie blogs are really starting to solidify themselves in the blogosphere as more and more people are becoming excited about lingerie. It’s no longer just about practicality for people; it’s also about the design, the beauty, and the versatility. But just as the fashion industry has experienced issues with diversity, a hard-to-attain body and beauty standard, and advertisement controversy, so too has lingerie as it’s such an intimate thing that showcases a lot of a woman’s body. Trailblazers exist in the lingerie world as they do in the fashion world, and we want to highlight 5 lingerie bloggers that are changing the industry.
Georgina Horne is the complete package; she’s intelligent, hilarious, honest, and drop-dead gorgeous. She’s become a powerhouse through her blogging and has modelled, designed clothing, and has appealed to a rising number of women who are owning their bodies despite industry standards. She is knowledgeable about lingerie, brands, and fitting, and also shares personal tidbits and fashion inspiration. Horne is changing the industry through creating more visibility in the lingerie and fashion industry for curvy women and teaching women how to embrace every part of themselves.
Curvy Kate is a lingerie brand that we are proud to carry, and they design stunningly feminine and functional lingerie for curvy ladies. However, they also run a blog where they discuss current events pertaining to body image, body acceptance, lingerie, and fabulous tips and tricks for lingerie fitting and shopping. What’s lovely about Curvy Kate is they write everything in a very light-hearted way, so it’s very enjoyable to read about topics that can be sensitive to some.
You know that Ashley Graham is a model and designer, but she also runs a blog through her website where she shares the various efforts she’s making for “curvasexilicius” sized women to feel empowered and confident and sexy. This is a blog worth reading to become inspired by her thoughtful and informed messages through her appearances and interviews. Graham is not only a beautiful model, but she has a great mind and a lot of powerful messages to share.
Cora Harrington is probably one of the first names to come to mind when discussing lingerie blogging. Harrington didn’t specialize in lingerie, but understands the importance of fit and design and appreciates the art form that it truly is. The reason she is a powerful force in the industry is because not only has she boosted visibility for lingerie blogging in general, but she has created a truly genuine inclusive space for ALL women to fall in love with lingerie like she has. It’s wonderful to see someone promoting diversity completely on all sides of the spectrum.
