To Bra or Not to Bra
Just the other day, I was sitting on a picnic bench, enjoying the sun, until I was rudely interrupted by a braless woman walking by. After controlling my immediate reaction of horror, I took a closer look. Her chest was staring at me, in a not-so-flattering way. She bounced and pointed right by me.
I asked myself, “did she do that on purpose or does she genuinely not care?” I don’t believe that any woman in this entire world, with average sized breasts, can feel sincerely comfortable out on a hot day, not wearing a bra. I couldn’t help asking myself why. This got me thinking, “why do some women do this?” Do they enjoy the feeling or being ‘free,’ or do they just not know how to find a well fitted and comfortable bra? I think it’s the latter.
Being a busty girl myself, I have NEVER felt comfortable without a bra, except for maybe when I was a child and had no boobs. Even when I go to bed, I have to stuff something in the middle while I lie on my side, to feel like they’re not flopping together. I’ve always been jealous of women that can get away with not wearing a bra, but do they really enjoy the bare feeling?
According to Redbook magazine, the average woman owns 9 bras. By now, it is common knowledge to most that more than 80% of women are wearing the wrong bras or bra size. Is this why women decide to go braless, because they just give up?
Between the pinching and the pulling and drowning in your bra, discomfort comes in many forms. After years of wearing badly/poorly fitted bras, my life changed after getting a bra fitting by NTL’s Bra Doctor®, Celine. No Victoria’s Secret nonsense. I personally believe that if every single woman in the world (cup size AAA-ZZZ) had a comfortable fitting bra, no one would ever go braless in public again.
I’ve given you my opinion, and I want to hear from you!

12 years agoHello Felicia,
I can’t imagine walking down the street without a bra on.I like the feeling of proper support, not having them flop all over the place! Thanks to the “Bra Doctor”, Celine fitting me, I have not had an ill fitting bra. I think that I look and feel the best when wearing a bra! And I have way more than the average girl. almost double that number 9!

12 years agoHi Lonnie! Thanks for your message. Felicia and I agree about wanting to feel supported, especially if you have a generous bustline. I’m so glad I could help you with your bra fitting needs, it’s always a pleasure Lonnie! 🙂

12 years agoI never used to like wearing a bra until my 50s. Celine helped me to find bras that fit my weird shape and look good on me.
Now I look look forward to wearing new styles and colours to add flare to my outerwear.
Thank you so much Bra doctor!

12 years agoFelicia,
I feel so confident wearing a well fitting bra as I get older.
I never knew in 1970 that in 2012 I would love bras, probably because I was busy encouraging my sisters to burn their bras to notice my future.

12 years agoHahaha Cindy, the bra-burning era will definitely reign in our minds for many years to come, but I think now many women are coming to realize how empowering it is to wear a bra that fits properly and makes us feel like the confident and strong women we are!
Cindy

10 years agoAs I am not from the US, I do not participate in the National No Bra Day. It is definately the first time I have heard of this event. It would be an eye-opening event for me from the South East Asia.
To bra or not to bra is not an issue for me, but I personally prefer wearing bra when I am not at home, and not to bra when I go to bed.
